Delhi Horror: 5-Year-Old Girl 'Raped' by Sweeper in School Washroom, Accused Booked Under POCSO
In the preliminary probe, investigators have obtained CCTV footage which showed the sweeper entering into the girls' washroom meant for pre-primary and primary girls, along with the victim. The school authorities have also been sent a notice and asked to explain why a male sweeper was charged of cleaning the washroom assigned for girls.
New Delhi, August 14: Crime rate continues to soar in the national capital, with another case of rape being reported in the city on Tuesday. The victim, this time, is a 5-year-old girl who was allegedly sexually assaulted inside her school premises. The accused, who has been arrested, has been identified as a sweeper employed by the school.
Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), said the accused has been booked under IPC sections related to rape, along with the provisions of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. 3 Arrested For Raping Woman in front of Differently-Abled Husband in Assam
Although his identity has not been revealed in the reports, the accused is said to be a 45-year-old man, and lives in slum close to the school. He is father of four children, including a son and three daughters.

Reports further claim that the parents of three other children have come forward to register their case with the police, after the victim's family filed the complaint.
The school principal has reportedly been asked to reveal whether any of the children or parents had internally raised the issue with them. The help of an NGO is also being taken to counsel the kids and ascertain whether any of the sexual assault victims have been coerced into silence.
