New Delhi, May 30: In a major relief to women employees, the Delhi government took an initiative to open a creche for children of female government employees. According to a report published in The Times of India, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday sent a note to the secretary of the Women and Child Welfare Department (WCD). It the note, Sisodia asked the department to submit a detailed report by June 15 regarding the plan to open the crèche. Sisodia in the note said that Work-life balance for working mothers is not easy and it is the responsibility of the employer organisations to improve their working condition.2,500 Delhi government employees work out of the Players’ Building and 10 percent of them are women, reported TOI. A meeting will also be convened at the level of the WCD secretary with concerned departments about taking the decision to open crèche in the Delhi Secretariat.
