New Delhi, July 31: Delhi should be worried as River Yamuna continues to flow above the danger mark. The water levels have reached the mark of 206.1 metre, the highest since the year 2013. According to media reports, about 3,000 people have been evacuated from the low-lying areas of Delhi. The people living in the low-lying areas have been shifted to makeshift camps.
Traffic was suspended on the Old Yamuna Bridge as the water levels in the river continued to rise. The rise in the water-levels started reaching above danger levels on Sunday. According to authorities, the water levels have reached its highest level in the last five years.
Reports also confirmed that the Delhi government has declared an emergency in the low-lying areas of the Yamuna floodplains. Check the ANI tweet below to see the visuals of Yamuna river flowing well above the danger level mark:

The water level had touched 205.5 metre around 5 pm on Sunday, and it became clear that the situation would become serious in the coming days.
Before this, it was only in the year 2013 that the water levels had breached the 205 metres. In 2013, the water levels had touched 207.3 metre.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday had held an emergency meeting with the senior officials to discuss the issue of rising level of Yamuna river.
The CM had given directions to the officers and told them to stay alert so as to avoid any untoward situation in the state. An aerial survey was also conducted by the Haryana Chief Minister on Yamuna river in Yamunanagar district.
