Delhi: Fire Breaks Out at Furniture Market Near Kalindi Kunj Metro Station, Train Services on Magenta Line Affected

New Delhi, June 21: A massive fire broke out on Friday morning at a furniture market located in Shaheen Bagh area of the city. The location of blaze is close to the Kalindi Kunj metro station. The train services on Magenta line were affected due to the blaze. The firefighting operations were underway.

No casualties have been reported so far in the fire incident. Since the blaze broke out in the wee hours of the day, the market was empty thus preventing a major tragedy.

Commeters in Delhi have been adversely hit due to the fire, as the Metro train services -- which are used by a large section of office-goers -- have been affected on the line passing through Kalindi Kunj station.
"The firefighters are still attending the fire near Kalindi Kunj. Train movement has not resumed between the affected section," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a statement.
