New Delhi, January 7: A dog owner allegedly shot and killed a 30-year-old man after he threw some stones at his pet animal. The incident took place on Sunday near Welcome Colony in the northeast Delhi. The victim, identified as Afaq, was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The accused Mehtab is on the run and the police are looking for him.

Afaq was walking on a road in Welcome Colony when the dog started barking at him. The dog apparently tried to bite Afaq, following which he pelted a handful of stones at the animal, police officer Atul Thakur said, as reported by news agency ANI. Mumbai: Irked at Multiple Orders, Waiter Attacks Customer With Knife.

The dog's owner, Mehtab, who saw the stones hit the dog, quickly went inside his house and came out with a gun. He then shot Afaq after a brief argument, the police said.
