New Delhi, October 25: A 12-year-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by a group of four boys in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar following a scuffle over playing cricket on Thursday. The police have apprehended the four minor boys in connection with the incident. As per reports, the boys are between 10 and 12 years. Police are investigating the matter. The victim was studying in a madrasa Das ul Uloom Faridiya. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Azeem, a native of Haryana’s Mewat region. The incident occurred around 10 am after a fight took place between the boys studying in the madrasa and those living in the area over playing cricket at an empty plot outside the madrassa. The accused children asked the students of the madrassa to move to aside and let them play, but they refused. One of the boys pushed Azeem, after which he fell unconscious on the ground. "The local boys insisted on playing since they claimed there was no other empty place nearby. A scuffle broke out in which the student sustained an internal injury on his head" said Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South). The 12-year-old boy was taken to a hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Later he was declared dead in the evening. Azeem’s parents were informed about the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
