New Delhi, July 3: Two days after the communal tensions in Hauz Qazi area of the national capital, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reportedly summoned Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik and sought a detailed report said sources. Meanwhile, people offered peace prayers on Wednesday. Following the spat between two communities in Old Delhi's Chawri Bazar locality over scooter parking, Delhi police have arrested three men, including a minor.

People could be seen offering prayers for normalcy to return in the area, as Sunday's incident have created an environment of fear among the citizens of the locality. For the normalcy to return, adequate security arrangements have been made near the Chawri Bazar Metro Station gate number 2 and adjoining areas, while police a tight vigil is also being carried out to stop any untoward incident. Ascertaining the residents of Chawri Bazar that accused of vandalism have been nabbed, police informed that they have taken Zuber and Anas into custody, and third accused is a d15 years old boy.

According to the police, the fracas began when 47-year-old Sanjeev Gupta, a caterer, asked Aas Mohd to not park his bike at the entrance. Following this, a heated argument began between the two and after a few minutes, around 300 people reached Gupta’s house and vandalised a nearby temple. Later, around 15-20 persons crossed the street and chanted 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.

Two versions of the incidents have come to the fore, with Muhammad's family alleging that he was attacked by Guptas and his kin for parking the vehicle outside their house. "They roughed him up, fractured his hand, despite him pleading that he would remove the scooter within 10 minutes," claimed a neighbour. The Guptas have, however, denied the charge. Sanjeev's wife Babita alleged that Muhammad began abusing her husband when he stopped him from parking the scooter.
