New Delhi, August 14: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have moved Patiala House Court seeking to restrain Delhi Police from sharing contents or details of the charge sheet with the media. The court has issued a notice to Delhi Police and also fixed August 25 as the next date of hearing. Yesterday, the Delhi police filed the chargesheet against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and 11 other AAP MLAs for allegedly assaulting Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash in February.
The chargesheet was filed in the court based on the investigation conducted after Prakash filed a complaint. The chief secretary had alleged that he was beaten up by the MLAs in the presence of Kejriwal at the Chief Minister's residence on the night of February 19. He was called at the CM’s house for a late night meeting.
However, the Delhi cabinet ministers termed the chargesheet as ‘bogus’. In a joint statement, Delhi Cabinet ministers Gopal Rai, Satyendra Jain, Kailash Gahlot, Rajendra Pal Gautam and Imran Hussain stated that the chargesheet is based on "imaginary and false allegations." They also said that no stone had been left unturned in paralysing the Delhi government.
