New Delhi, October 23: AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took out a massive Padyatra in Mehrauli, on Wednesday. In a powerful address he emphasised the transformative governance his party has delivered in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal also raised concerns about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) efforts to halt the city’s progress through false accusations, arresting AAP leaders, and obstructing development work.
The Padyatra also witnessed the locals pouring their love for Arvind Kejriwal as he marched through the constituency. Despite the streets being filled with supporters following the AAP Convenor people came out to the streets to meet their beloved leader and bless him for another resounding victory in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal highlighted the unprecedented work the AAP government has done in the last decade. He said, “over the past year or two, they have falsely implicated and jailed AAP leaders one by one. The Supreme Court has rebuked them for this, they’re having none of this nonsense. The way the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi is working, such work hasn’t been done in India in the past 75 years. Our government has transformed schools and set up Mohalla Clinics across Delhi.
People receive free medical treatment, including surgeries, and access to free medicines in government hospitals. Back in 2014, Delhi experienced up to eight hours of power cuts daily. Today, Delhi enjoys 24-hour electricity, which is both the cheapest and, in many cases, free. The BJP wants to stop these services because they are incapable of delivering similar benefits in the 22 states they govern. The people there are now asking if Arvind Kejriwal can provide so many facilities in Delhi, why can't they? The BJP lacks both the intent and the capability to provide these facilities. Since they couldn’t provide services in their 22 states, they now want to halt the work being done in Delhi.” Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: Make Me CM Again, Says AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal in Open Letter to Voters.
The AAP Supremo underscored that the BJP, unable to replicate AAP’s governance model in other states, has tried to undermine Delhi’s progress. “When they couldn’t stop us through the Lieutenant Governor (LG), they resorted to jailing AAP leaders on fabricated charges. Over the last two years, they have imprisoned Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Satyendar Jain, and myself. Even during this period, the BJP tried to hinder Delhi’s development by disrupting road repairs, creating water supply issues, and blocking medical services,” he said.
He assured the people of Delhi that all stalled work has now resumed. “Since my release, I have instructed all roads to be repaired and my MLAs to ensure cleanliness across the city. Hospitals have resumed the purchase of medicines, and diagnostic services have restarted. There’s no need to worry—Delhi is back on track,” he added.

Arvind Kejriwal warned that the BJP’s current goal is not to work for Delhi but to halt the progress made under AAP’s governance. “The BJP is now using every tactic at its disposal to seize power in Delhi be it persuasion, money, punishment, or division. They don’t want to work in Delhi but want to stop the work that the AAP government has done. If the BJP comes to power in Delhi, power cuts lasting up to 10 hours will begin. Earlier, people used to get electricity bills of up to 10,000 rupees. After we came to power, we made electricity bills zero. Those who have received incorrect water bills don’t need to pay them. I will waive all such bills. Only Kejriwal will waive all incorrect water bills. If the BJP comes to power, people will have to pay all their bills.”
Reflecting on his decade long tenure, Arvind Kejriwal said, “over the past 10 years, we have improved many things. There is still a lot of work left to be done. We will work with the 2 crore people of Delhi to get it done. But don’t fall for the BJP’s deception. Their language is very polished, they use flowery language. The BJP knows how to give speeches, and we know how to work.”
