New Delhi, November 18: The air quality in Delhi significantly improved on Monday and was in the 'moderate' category in most places in the city. Addressing a media conference in the city, and on being asked regarding the implementation of the odd-even scheme again CM Arvind Kejriwal said, "The sky is clear now, so there is no need of it."

Kejriwal had implemented the odd-even rule to curb rising pollution levels. On Friday, the Supreme Court rebuked the Central and the state government for its inefficiency in handling the pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. The Apex Court further pointed out that the odd-even rule will not have any long-lasting impact in bringing down the pollution levels. The pollution levels started getting better from Sunday, with the presence of strong winds and a sudden fall in the temperature. Schools which were shut on Thursday and Friday reopened from Monday. A high-level meeting on air pollution took place on Monday. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretaries of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. This came amid the spike in pollution levels in Delhi-NCR over the last couple of days mainly due to stubble burning by farmers in Haryana and Punjab.
