New Delhi, December 27: The air quality in the national capital has dipped further and has turned more toxic. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Air Quality Index was at 367, thus falling in the category of 'very poor' in areas around India Gate.

The heavy fog on Thursday morning delayed several trains. According to experts, the current situation will persist and or will worsen for the next five days, facilitating more trapping and secondary particulate formation—aggravating Delhi’s pollution woes further.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered "good", 51-100 "satisfactory", 101-200 "moderate", 201-300 "poor", 301-400 "very poor" and 401-500 "severe". An AQI above 500 falls in the "severe-plus" category.
