New Delhi, November 27: Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has suspended Deepak Pandit, Assistant Commissioner, on grounds of owning disproportionate assets. According to an ANI update, the Finance Ministry sources have alleged that Pandit has expended huge amounts of money in the marriage of his two sons and acquired expensive unaccounted properties in posh areas of Mumbai. The value of which is disproportionate to his known and declared sources of income.

The government of India compulsorily sacked 21 corrupt junior IT officers on Tuesday, thus taking the number of officers sacked by the Revenue Department in the last few months to 85. Mumbai: Five Cops Suspended Over Custodial Death of 26-Year-Old Vijay Singh at Wadala TT Police Station.

According to a Times of India report, these officers were part of Group B, and most of them faced corruption charges. In the past as well, officers were compulsorily retired after giving them a chance to respond to the charges. The officers who were sacked had demanded a bribe ranging from Rs 60,000 to Rs 2 lakh, and they were posted across the country.
