Dawood Ibrahim's Aide Jabir Motiwala Denied Bail By London's Westminster Magistrate’s Court
London's Westminster Magistrate’s Court today denied bail to key Dawood Ibrahim aide Jabir Motiwala who was detained by UK security agencies in London on August 19.
London, August 21: London's Westminster Magistrate’s Court today denied bail to key Dawood Ibrahim aide Jabir Motiwala who was detained by UK security agencies in London on August 19. Motiwala is underworld Don Dawood’s finance manager and is a Pakistan national. During the hearing, Motiwala’s counsel requested the judge to ban the media from the court over safety concerns due to "reports appearing in the Indian media". However, Judge Coleman, hearing the case at turned down his request.
Motiwala is reportedly playing a key role in actively exploring the option of movement of Dawood Ibrahim's family to the UK. The Dawood’s aide holds a ten-year visa to the United Kingdom. Motiwala is involved in investment in Dawood's businesses which spans across Pakistan and areas covering the Middle East, the UK and Europe, Africa and countries of South East Asia. As per an ANI report, Motiwala owns property in the residential compound owned by Dawood's family in Karachi.
The Dawood’s aid was also looking for dual nationality status in Barbados and Antigua and the Dominican Republic and a Permanent Resident status in Hungary. Dawood is a Specially Designated International Terrorist (SDGT). He has masterminded the March 1993 bombings in Mumbai in which 250 people lost their lives. He is wanted on the charges of murder, extortion, targeted killing, drug trafficking, terrorism and various other cases by the Indian government.
