Mumbai, January 15: A close aide of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar was reportedly killed in Pakistan's Karachi "for colluding with Indian agencies". According to a report, Dawood Ibrahim's right-hand man Chhota Shakeel ordered the killing of Farooq Devdiwala because he suspected him being part of a conspiracy against the D-Company boss. If the death is confirmed, it would make Devdiwala the second aide of Dawood Ibrahim to be killed in Pakistan.
Chhota Shakeel came to know through his informants that Devdiwala had met Indian officials in Dubai and was conspiring against Dawood. Shakeel Babu Miyan alias Chhota Shakeel has been the de-facto boss of the D Company as he oversees the entire operation while Dawood just orders him around. When Shakeel confronted, Devdiwala confessed of being part of the conspiracy, after which Dawood and his aides felt he could no longer be trusted, reports TOI. The Interpol was trying to confirm the death of Devdiwala in Karachi. After Devdiwala's arrest in Dubai last year, the Indian government made an unsuccessful bid for his deportation to India. However, Pakistan through bogus documents showed him to be a Pakistani national and got him extradited to its own soil. Devdiwala's name first cropped up in the murder of Gujarat home minister Haren Pandya post-Godhra riots. Chhota Shakeel’s Son Mubashir Shaikh Adopts Spiritual Path in Pakistan.
Devdiwala, a member of Arjun gang, worked closely with gangster Salim Kutta. Originally a resident of Jogeshwari in Mumbai, he later became a fundamentalist and started recruiting youngsters for the terror group Indian Mujahideen. His links to the terror outfit came to fore after the Ahmedabad ATS arrested two suspects who went to Pakistan for training.
