New Delhi, October 30: Datta Padsalgikar, the former Mumbai Police commissioner and DGP, Maharashtra, has been appointed as the Deputy (National Security Advisor) NSA Internal Security. Ajit Doval is the 5th and current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India.
Padsalgikar who was the commissioner of Mumbai police and was then promoted as DGP (Director General of Police), Maharashtra. Padgalsikar had taken charge as the chief of Mumbai Police in 2016 from Javed Ahmed. He was made the DGP in the year 2018.

Datta Padsalgikar has been involved in a number of high profile cases. He has been a part of international assignments too. A former Intelligence Bureau (IB) hand, he holds vast experience in handling sensitive matters. Padsalgikar also worked on collecting evidence against Pakistan in the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai.
