Puri, May 9: Coming together in the solitary for the victims of the natural calamity and restoration of the affected areas, the Odisha Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officers Association on Thursday pledged that its every member will contribute Rs 10,000 to the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) in the wake of Cyclone Fani which hit the state some days ago, said association secretary Vishal Kumar Dev. The East Indian state was hit by extremely severe Cyclonic Storm Fani, which claimed over 40 lives. As Odisha is struggling to get back on the track, help and support have started coming from different quarters. The aid is coming from within the state as well outside with different Chief Ministers and celebrities donating generously. While Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel offered to donate Rs 11 crore, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswami have announced to donate Rs 10 crore each to assist in the restoration work in the state. Similarly, spiritual leader Dalai Lama donated Rs 10 Lakh from the Dalai Lama Trust.
While, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik donated his one year, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan contributed his one month's salary to the CMRF. Actor Akshay Kumar has also donated one crore to the CMRF. Meanwhile, comedian Kapil Sharma has urged people to contribute and help rebuild the state.
