Raipur, February 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party's Chhattisgarh unit website was cracked into by Pakistani hackers, who posted chauvinistic and war-mongering messages on the landing page. The site has now been taken down to reclaim access from the cyber group across the border. The incident comes days after Indian techies cracked into the government portals of Pakistan, as a mark of revenge against the terror attack in Pulwama.

State BJP IT Cell chief Dr Mashke said not only his party, but nearly a 100 Indian websites were hacked by the Pakistani group. Pak Media Hails JeM Terrorist As ‘Freedom Fighter’.

"More than 100 websites were hacked in a cyber-attack, our website was one of them. We've registered a complaint. They can't take us head on, that's why they resort to such things," he said.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated following the February 14 terror strike, which ended up claiming the lives of 40 CRPF personnel. The Bahawalpur-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) claimed responsibility of the attack.

Islamabad, however, refuses to accept the involvement of any Pakistani national in the Pulwama attack. Turning a blind eye to the admission statements released by JeM, Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked the Indian government to share "actionable intelligence" report.
