New Delhi, October 24: The crime branch on Monday busted a racket of duping around 3,000 job aspirants across the country. According to a report published in Hindustan Times, a gang of cons who were running a racket from a house in east Delhi, cheated job seekers of Rs 12 Lakh. The gang was offering employment in the Union agriculture ministry. The police have detained two members of the gang.
The gang had created a fake website, “panditdeendayalkrishivikas.com” and was accepting applications for recruitment on various posts in the agriculture ministry. According to the report, an advertisement regarding the vacant posts was uploaded on the website on October 6, and October 28 was fixed for the last of submitting the applications. Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Bhisham Singh told Hindustan Times, “In a bid to make the fake recruitment drive look genuine, the racketeers had given the postal address of Krishi Bhawan in central Delhi for submitting the forms.” The applicants were asked to send their filled forms only by post only. Meanwhile, the agriculture ministry is also running scrolls and alerts on the agriculture ministry’s website to make people aware and prevent fraud. The busted the racket after receiving a complaint from the ministry. According to the report, more than 100 forms were received by the fraud company every day. The police tracked the internet protocol of the system from which the fake website was created.
