New Delhi, February 22: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Friday slammed a latest article released by the Caravan magazine, which profiles the martyrs of the gruesome terror attack in Pulwama on the basis of caste. The paramilitary force shared a tweet on its official account, which derided the media outlet for stooping to such "demeaning" journalism.

The tweet shared by the CRPF on social media was penned by one of its serving personnel, Moses Dhinakaran. He condemned the magazine for segregating the late jawans on the "pathetic" bases of caste and religion. PM Narendra Modi Skipped Food Post Pulwama Attack, Claims Report.

"We in CRPF identify ourself as Indians. Not more, not less. This pathetic divisiveness of caste, color, and religion doesn't exist in our blood. You should strictly refrain from insulting all the martyrs. They are not statistics for your demeaning and meaningless write-up (sic)," Dhinakar said.

Here's the post retweeted by CRPF:

The Caravan article had reported that among the 40 CRPF martyrs, the maximum were those belonging to lower castes. 19 of the bravehearts belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 7 to the Schedule Castes (SC) and 5 to the Scheduled Tribes (ST). 8 belonged to the general category or the upper castes, whereas, 1 martyr was a Muslim.

Apart from the CRPF, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh also condemned the caste-analysis article. While speaking to Republic World, he said the forces should not be viewed through the divisive lens of caste and religion.
