CRPF Madadgaar Helpline Handles Over 34,000 Calls, Facilitates Contact of Kashmiris Residing Outside Valley With Their Families Since Abrogation of Article 370

The Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) Madadgaar helpline handled over 34,000 phone calls since August 5, the day when the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was scrapped by diluting Article 370. Most of the callers enquired about the well-being of their family members and relatives living in Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar, September 10: The Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) Madadgaar helpline handled over 34,000 phone calls since August 5, the day when the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was scrapped by diluting Article 370. Most of the callers enquired about the well-being of their family members and relatives living in Jammu and Kashmir. Since August 5, the force handled 34,274 calls, out of which, the CRPF facilitated contact of 1,227 families with their near and dear ones living outside Kashmir. As per the CRPF, it also provided medicines to 123 patients living under below poverty line (BPL). Over 300 Kashmiri Students From Uttarakhand, Haryana Reach Mohali; Many Head Home, Amid Reports of Harassment.

The CRPF Madadgaar tweeted, “@CRPFmadadgaar has facilitated contact of about 1200 families with their NOK outside Kashmir & satisfied grievances of more than 34000 callers in the past month. 123 patients living  BPL also provided essential meds & immunosuppresants, delivered to their home by @crpfindia.”

In February this year, the CRPF’s 24×7 helpline Madadgar helped more than 250 Kashmiri students in various cities of the country to reach their homes in Jammu and Kashmir safely, in the wake of the Pulwama terrorist attack. The students were first brought to the Jammu region and then adequate transport arrangements were made so that they reach home safely.
