Srinagar, April 22: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan is earning praise on Twitter for donating blood to a woman and her newborn baby to save their lives. According to a report published in CNN News 18, a 25-year-old woman was facing severe complications while delivering her baby and had lost a lot of blood. Gohil Shailesh of 53rd battalion of the CRPF decided to help out the woman by donating his own blood to meet the deficit. The family of the woman lives in Gulshan. The CRPF posted about the incident on its official Twitter handle. The force tweeted, "The relation of blood. Constable Gohil Shailesh of #53Bn donated blood to 25 yr old lady of #Kashmir who urgently needed blood due to complications during delivery. His blood saved a mother, a child, a family and created a bond for life."

“Madadgar” is a helpline managed by the CRPF for the residents of Kashmir to provide them support in medical emergencies. The 24X7 helpline was started in 2017. It was the brainchild of CRPF's Inspector General (Operations) Zulfiquar Hasan. Earlier this year, the Madadgaar unit helped a three-year-old baby with O- Negative blood in Baramulla.
