CRPF and J&K Police Refute Report of Dispute Between Kashmiri Muslim Policeman and Forces, Calls It ‘Malicious and Baseless’

The Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force on Monday refuted to a social media claim. A verified Twitter user claimed that there was a dispute between a Muslim Kashmiri policeman and CRPF official.

Srinagar, August 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force on Monday refuted to a social media claim. A verified Twitter user said that there was a dispute between a Kashmiri Muslim policeman and CRPF officials. "Rifts emerging among Indian security forces deployed in Kashmir. A Muslim Kashmiri policeman shot & killed five Indian CRPF personnel in a 'blue on blue' attack after they refused to let a pregnant woman by because she didn't have a curfew pass. Things on edge since that attack," the tweet read.

CRPF said, "The malicious content of this tweet is absolutely baseless and untrue. As always, all the security forces of India are working with coordination and bonhomie. Patriotism and our tricolour lie at the core of our hearts and existence, even when the color of our uniforms may differ."

Imtiyaz Hussain, Jammu and Kashmir police officer, also rebutted the claim. He tweeted, "What weed do they smoke and what fantasy world they live in? If this is what verified handles are peddling, imagine the storm of propaganda unleashed by thousands of fake(Kashmiri look like) handles of @OfficialDGISPR. Truth has the ultimate power to decimate their imagined world."

The government on Monday said that not even a single bullet has been fired by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir nor there been a casualty. The government also added that Eid al-Adha 2019 was celebrated peacefully with only some minor incidents of protests. The security and restrictions were imposed in the northern state ahead of abrogation of Article 370 on August 5.
