Thane, August 6: The city of Thane was lashed by the rains over the weekend. Major lakes and nullahs in the city were overflowing causing waterlogging in parts of the city. Adding to the woes of waterlogging, the residential area of Vartak Nagar had a visitor from the Yeoor jungle. A crocodile entered the Vedant Complex on Sunday night. Forest department officials were called in but they could not find the reptile, which has sparked fear among the residents.

The Vedant Phase 2 colony has now issued a letter warning the residents to be on the lookout for crocodiles. A resident who was returning home on Sunday night saw the tail of a crocodile near the trunk of a tree in the complex. After some time, the crocodile further moved into the parking lot of the building. As the resident informed others in the complex, they called the forest officials. Wildlife Welfare Association officials then rushed to the area to find the crocodile but even after looking for 5 hours, the reptile was not found. Gujarat Farmer Finds 8-Foot Long Crocodile Under His Bed, View Scary Pics!

The Upvan lake very near to the area has been known to have some crocs in its waters. As the Upvan lake also overflowed with the heavy rain, the crocodile could have possibly come out. The Yeoor jungle is also around, which is also known for constant spotting of leopards. So residents from the nearby area have been warned to be extra careful and keep a watchful eye on the parking lots and also be careful with their children. It is possible that the crocodile may've gone back too but the residents need to be careful that the reptile could've strayed.
