Sambhal, July 21: Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rahman has urged the government to open markets so that people can buy animals for Bakra Eid 2020. He further said that the novel coronavirus disease will disappear if Muslims are allowed to offer prayers at Mosques and eidgahs. "On the occasion of Bakr Eid, markets should be opened so that people can buy animals from there. Noting that no cure has been found for coronavirus, the Samajwadi Party MP said, "Coronavirus is not a disease but punishment by God for our sins." He said that the best cure for the respiratory infection is that "we all pray to God."

Rahman is not the only politician who has come up with a bizarre solution to fight COVID-19. Earlier, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Dilip Ghosh said that drinking cow urine will help in the fight against COVID-19. Congress leader Ravichandra Gatti from Mangaluru also recommended rum and half-fried eggs to fight the virus.
