Bhopal, May 7: Senior Indian National Congress leader Suresh Pachouri on Tuesday dumped loads of document at former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan's house as a proof that grand old party has waived loans of 21 lakh farmers after coming to power in the Assembly elections last year. Chauhan, however, refuted the claims and dubbed it as a "bundle of lies” from Congress. Shivraj Singh Chouhan Holds ‘Oil Lantern March’ in Bhopal, Says ‘Dark Era in MP is Back Under Congress Government’.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, confirming the same, and said, "Former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, today, was given a list of 21 lakh farmers whose loans have been waived off & in whose accounts the money has been deposited. The list is available on the agriculture portal as well, guess he doesn't know how to access it." Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath Votes Under Camera Lights as Power Trips in Chhindwara Polling Booth.

The Congress claimed that Pachouri along with other ministers brought cartons of documents in two cars. They carried the cartons on their heads and dumped it in Chauhan's residence. The Rahul Gandhi's party claimed that documents provided details about how Kamalnath's government acted on pre-poll promise of waiving off farmers loan.

Congress spokesperson Bhupendra Gupta said that the party was waiving of farmers loan but the work was put on hold due to implementation of Model Code of Conduct due to ongoing 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The former Chief Minister has been accusing the Kamal Nath's government in the state of not fulfilling its promise of waiving off farmers loan.
