Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal, First Army Man to Attempt Seven Summits Is Set to Climb Mt Vinson in Antarctica

Jamwal has already scaled the highest heights in six continents and has geared up for the last and final, Mt Vinson for which he is scheduled to depart today, December 25.

Lt Colonel Ranveer Singh Jamwal from Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, is now set for the seventh summit—Mt Vinson in Antarctica. Col. Singh is an extremely reputed mountaineer of India and a talented Army officer. His aim to climb the seven highest peaks in all the seven continents make him one of the successful mountaineers, inspiring many adventure lovers. Jamwal has already scaled the highest heights in six continents and has geared up for the last and final, Mt Vinson for which he is scheduled to depart today, December 25. First in History! Throughout his journey, he has proudly hoisted the national flag at Mt Everest, Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Carstensz Pyramid, Mt Elbrus, Mt Aconcagua and Mt Denali. He even has set a record for climbing three times back to back at Mt Everest. On his journey towards Mt Vinson, the official Instagram handle of the Indian Army has shared images of his achievements so far.

The tentative date of the summit will be between January 6 to 9, 2019, depending on the weather. If he scales, Mount Vinson, Jamwal will become the first person from the state and from the Indian Army and the ninth Indian to complete seven summits in the seven continents of the world. Apart from him, the other eight Indians who have slated these extraordinary achievements are Late Malli Mastan Babu, Premlata Agrawal, Tashi Malik, Nungshi Malik, Commander Satyabrata Dam (retd), Satyarup Siddhanta, Ankur Bahl and Group Captain RC Tripathi.
