Coimbatore, November 1: In a shocking case, a 23-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore committed suicide on Thursday. She took this extreme step over the fear that her family would force her to abandon her pet dog, Hindustan Times reported. Kavitha, an accountant by profession, left behind a suicide note to apologise for her choice and appealed her family to take care of the animal. No Death Doing Apart! "Mummy, Daddy, Brother, Kindly take care of Caesar... I am sorry for my decision. Everyone should live happily... Go to the temple once a week," the woman had written, police told Hindustan Times.

According to cops, Kavitha had brought a mixed-breed dog two years ago. For some time, the canine had started barking in the night creating a nuisance for neighbours. Her parents were planning to abandon the dog, which led to frequent quarrels in the family.

Recently, her father had made the final decision and told Kavitha that she would have to abandon Caesar. Angry over this, the woman locked herself in her room. After she didn't respond to several calls, her parents broke open the door and found her hanging.

Following Kavitha's death, Ceaser had stopped eating, HT reported. Meanwhile, the body has been sent for a post mortem. An inquiry is being conducted into the matter under the law of unnatural death.
