Mumbai, October 4: Mahanagar Gas Limited has announced a reduction in the CNG rates in Mumbai by Rs 2.04 per kg. The price of piped natural gas or domestic cooking gas has also been slashed by Rs 1.19 per unit. The dip in the rates is due to the reduction in the price of domestically produced natural gas by Centre.
According to a Times of India report, the revised price of CNG, inclusive of all taxes in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane will be Rs 49.95/kg as compared to the existing slab of CNG of Rs 51.99/kg. While the rate of PNG for slab 1 is Rs 30.60 per unit (scm) for slab 2 the tariff is Rs 36.20 per unit. The existing price for PNG Slab 1 is Rs 31.79 and for slab 2 is Rs 37.39. The reduction in the rates will provide some respite to the autos, taxis, BEST buses, and a section of aggregator cabs who depend on CNG for fuel. Lately, they have been demanding a fare hike because of the increase in the price of the fuel. The reduction of Rs 2 per kg will surely help them in their savings,
