CM Narayanasamy Dharna Against Kiran Bedi Enters Third Day, L-G Leaves For Delhi

New Delhi, February 15: Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy with other ministers continued their dharna outside Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi's residence- Raj Nivas for the third day, demanding that she accord sanction for 39 government proposals and alleged her “negative stand” towards the Congress government. Narayanasamy has accused Bedi of delaying multiple decisions by the state government and “blocking crucial files”. The chief minister, while speaking to news reporters, said, “Even if it is not possible to immediately concede all the 39 pleas, the L-G can give her nod to some of the important schemes, including the free rice scheme and grants.” CM, Ministerial Colleagues Begin Dharna Outside Raj Nivas.

On Thursday, CM Narayanasamy, spent the night on the road outside Bedi's residence. The CM's dharna let a response from Bedi and she wrote: "Instead of waiting for my response to your February 7 letter, you have come to Raj Nivas, demanding a reply in this unlawful manner." "This method (sitting in dharna) is unheard of from a person of your position," she added.

Meanwhile, to maintain peace and order, barricades have been fabricated around the Raj Nivas to keep troublemakers at bay. Earlier, in January, Chief Minister had led a similar agitation in front of the parliament.
