New Delhi, July 6: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has gotten into action mode after the Supreme Court ruled that Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal cannot obstruct decisions apart from those concerning land, law and public order. Kejriwal on Friday approved the move to allow doorstep delivery of ration and instructed the Food department to begin implementation of the order "immediately".
"Approved Doorstep Delivery of Rations. Over ruled all objections to the proposal. Directed Food Dept to start its implementation immediately," the Delhi CM tweeted today. He also added that he has asked the Food Department to keep him informed of the daily progress.

Kejriwal on Thursday also wrote to Baijal and said that the LG's approval was no longer mandatory for all subjects of governance. "I wish to bring to your kind notice two specific issues adjudged by Hon’ble Supreme Court - LG’s “concurrence” would now not be required on any matter and executive powers related to "Services" lies with Council of Ministers," Kejriwal wrote in the letter.
A Supreme Court Constitution Bench on Wednesday unanimously ruled in favour of the Arvind Kejriwal government saying that the real powers of governance of Delhi rests with the elected representatives. The judgement pronounced in the court by Chief Justice Dipak Misra also held that the L-G cannot act as an "obstructionist".
