Mumbai, December 24: The Madras High court and the Bombay High Court have passed interim orders to restrain hotels, pubs from playing music without a license during Christmas and New Year parties. From Hollywood, Bollywood and Tollywood, music companies and labels have assigned rights to their tracks popular or to Indian Performing Rights Society, Phonographic Performance and Novex Communication, according to a Times of India report.

On the occasion of Christmas and New Year, bars can stay open till 5 am and wine shops till 1 am on December 24, 25 and 31 in Maharashtra. Following the gangrape and murder of the 26-year-old veterinary in Telangana, Hyderabad police have issued an advisory ahead of New Year party celebrations. The advisory circulated to event organisers asks them to put a ban on the entry of single male and female partygoers, while permission is only given to couples and their acquaintances.
