Beijing, October 24: A woman has claimed her boyfriend drugged her with sleeping tablets and then gave her abortion pills that resulted in the loss of their baby. The boyfriend, a urologist by profession, confessed to tricking her into taking abortion pills to terminate her pregnancy as he did not want to get married or have kids.

According to South China Morning Post, the couple had been in a romantic relationship since November 2021, and the woman surnamed Wang (34) found out she was pregnant on May 14 this year. The reports said Wang shared the news of her pregnancy with her boyfriend. However, he expressed his reluctance to get married or have children and tried to convince her to terminate the pregnancy. When Wang refused, the doctor allegedly devised a plan to terminate her pregnancy.  China Bans Gay Couples From Adopting Children, Prohibits Gay Pride Marches: Reports.

To discuss the matter, the couple met at a convenience store. The doctor bought water, and Wang purchased a bottle of Coke. After a few days, Wang received a WeChat call from her boyfriend, who wanted to know whether "she had bled yet". He revealed that he put an abortion pill in her Coke without her consent. After his revelation, she realised he had taken her drink out of her hands several times.

A few days later, the couple had dinner at Wang’s flat. After feeling tired and falling asleep, Wang woke up to find that her boyfriend had given her a drink laced with medication without her consent. Following this, she had an abortion the next evening. The reports said Wang’s boyfriend admitted to drugging her and giving her abortion pills without her consent. Despite this, Wang did not report him to the police after he wrote a letter of apology and asked her to marry him. However, when she realised the promise of marriage was false, she recently called the police to report the incident. A case has been registered, and the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
