New Delhi, August 8: A Thailand court on Wednesday ruled in favour of India and blasted Pakistan for forging documents. A criminal court in Thailand ruled that a close associate of Chhota Shakeel, Sayyed Muzakkir Muddassar Hussain alias Munna Jhingra, is an Indian citizen and has ordered his repatriation back to India.

The case involved a dispute between India and Pakistan over the citizenship of Munna Jhingra, who is lodged in a Bangkok prison since September 2000. The case had been under trial since April 2017.

Munna Jhingra recently finished serving a jail sentence in Thailand for an attempt to kill Chhota Rajan in 2001.

This comes days after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government handed over Chhota Shakeel aide Farooq Devdiwala to Pakistan despite New Delhi's efforts to secure his custody. The Interpol issued a red-corner notice against Farooq Devdiwala on India's request, but the UAE deported him to Pakistan.

Farooq Devdiwala, one of the close aide of fugitive D-gang member Chhota Shakeel, was reportedly known to be in contact with Pakistan's spy agency ISI members as well as terror cells in Pakistan.
