Balrampur, April 26: Six people were killed and 13 others were critically injured after the pickup van carrying them met an accident at Amera village of Balrampur district in Chhattisgarh on Friday, reported news agency ANI. The victims were travelling from Bhulsi village to Amera in a pick-up van. The speeding vehicle turned turtle near Dharagaon village. As soon as the incident was reported, police officials were soon at the spot. Jammu And Kashmir: Bus Meets Accident in Doda, Five Killed.
In a similar incident on Thursday, five people were killed and many were injured after a bus carrying them met an accident at Thathri Gandoh Road in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to police officials, the minibus came under the heavy boulder. The injured people were soon admitted to nearby hospitals.
According to data, accidents are a major cause of deaths in India. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) 2016 report states that 496,762 traffic accidents were reported in 2015. These following accidents caused 148,707 traffic-related deaths. The highest number of fatalities were reported from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
