Chhattisgarh, March 7: In a tragic incident, a class 10th student in Chhattisgarh ended her life after allegedly being strip searched during her board exams. According to a tweet by ANI, the student was reportedly striped by the inspecting officials while she was at the examination center for her exams in Jashpur. SDM Ravi Mittal termed the act as 'condemnable' and ordered an immediate inquiry into the matter. Mittal said that an investigation has been initiated and strict action will be taken against the culprits. He also urged the students not to worry about anything and appear for exam without stress. According to a report by TOI, the alleged strip search took place at Pandhrapath examination centre in Jashpur on March 1, when students were for their first paper of the Class X board. The report further states that the flying squad members were apparently ‘suspicious’ of three students and took the girls and a boy to different rooms to allegedly strip search them.

In February, a similar incident of suicide was reported from Maharashtra’s Buldhana district where three Class 10 girls committed suicide due to examination stress. Reports inform that the girls, belonging to Khamgaon city, consumed rat poison as they feared failing in the upcoming Maharashtra SSC Board Examination 2019 which began on March 1.
