Mumbai, August 26: A shocking incident of rape has come to light from Maharashtra, where two minor girls have been allegedly raped in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The rural police recently booked and arrested a 51-year-old head and owner of a private ashram school for allegedly raping two minor girls studying in the residential facility of the ashram. Police officials said that the alleged incident occurred at one of the ashram schools in the early hours of August 21.
According to a report in the Times of India, the incident came to light when the students and their family members approached the police on Saturday, August 24, and lodged a complaint against the accused. Acting on the complaint, the police booked the accused and immediately arrested him. In an official statement, officials of Kannad rural police said that the case involves two minor students aged 13 and 14 years. In her complaint, the 13-year-old student said the incident occurred at around 1 AM on August 21. The FIR stated that the accused woke the minor girl and took her to his room. She said that the accused locked the door and sexually assaulted her. Later, he called the second girl and sexually assaulted her too. Cops said that the accused has been running the private ashram school for the past 10 years.
They also said that the students of the ashram school belong to farmer families from nearby areas. Officials said students used to attend a school nearby school and later return to the residential ashram. The ashram is one of the many that has come up in and around the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's rural area. Meanwhile, the preliminary probe revealed that the accused threatened the minor girls with rustication if they disclosed the sexual assault to anyone. As the students don't have a mobile phone, they were not able to contact their parents. However, on Saturday, the minor girl narrated her ordeal when her parents visited the ashram to meet her. When cops questioned the accused, he tried to dodge them by giving evasive answers and even tried to dissuade them from registering a complaint. The accused has been booked under various sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act.
