A 40-year-old school headmistress in Chennai was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 22-year-old teacher after spiking her drink during a meeting at her home. The teacher reported awakening with injuries. Police investigated and charged the headmistress, who was later granted bail.

Chennai, October 30: In Chennai's Injambakkam area, a 40-year-old school headmistress was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 22-year-old female teacher who had recently joined the school after spiking her drink. According to the complaint, the headmistress invited the teacher to her home to discuss the upcoming half-yearly examinations.

During the visit, the headmistress allegedly offered the teacher a drink that caused her to lose consciousness. TOI reported that the distressed teacher reported the incident to the Thiruvanmiyur all-women police station. Investigations revealed that the headmistress and the teacher had reportedly been meeting in private over the past two years. On the day of the incident, the headmistress allegedly locked the teacher inside her home, where the sex assault took place.

The teacher was initially admitted to a private hospital for treatment but was later referred to the Royapettah Government Hospital due to the severity of her injuries. Further investigation revealed that, while intoxicated, the headmistress reportedly inflicted physical harm on the teacher.

The headmistress was presented before a magistrate and later released on bail as the charges were filed under non-serious sections. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
