Chennai Rains: Holiday Declared in Nagapattinam District Tomorrow as IMD Warns of Heavy Rainfall

A holiday for all schools and colleges in Chennai district has been announced on November 22 following the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) prediction of incessant rainfall in the district.

Chennai, November 21: Chennai district collector Shanmugha Sundaram on Wednesday announced a holiday for all schools and colleges in Chennai district on November 22 following the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) prediction of incessant rainfall in the district. Educational institutions in Kancheepuram and Nagapattinam districts has also declared a holiday following the heavy rainfall warning. Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Likely to Receive Heavy Rains in Next 24 Hours.

On Wednesday evening, the IMD predicted that the sky condition in Chennai will be cloudy and rainy in the next 24 hours. The exams of the Anna University which were scheduled for November 22 and November 23 are postponed at some districts including Nagapattinam, Pudukottai and Thiuvarur. The exams dates for these three districts will be announced later, reported Live Chennai. It is expected that rains will intensify during the night and early in the morning with steady downpours throughout the day.
