Mumbai, September 4: Power supply is likely to be affected in several areas of Tamil Nadu's Chennai on Tuesday, September 5. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company (TANGEDCO) has reportedly announced a power cut in a few areas of Chennai. On Tuesday, electricity supply is likely to be affected in and around Mylapore and Tambaram areas in Tamil Nadu's capital city.

Reportedly, the power supply will take a hit from 9 am to 2 pm due to maintenance work. According to a report in the Times of India, several areas of Mylapore and Tambaram in Tamil Nadu's Chennai will face power outages for five hours from 9 am to 2 pm in the afternoon. While the power cut has been undertaken for maintenance work, the supply could resume if work is completed earlier.

Areas Where Chennai Power Cut Will Be in Effect:

In Mylapore, areas such as Greams Road , Aziz Mulk 1st to 5th Street, Anna Salai, Thousand Lights, Begum Sahib Street, Model School Road and Azhagiri Nagar will face power cuts for five hours.

On the other hand, several areas of Tambaram, including Pallikaranai Assam Bhavan, Odissa Bhavan, Velachery Main Road, Ram Nagar South, Ganesh Avenue, Ashtalakshmi Avenue, Rajalakshmi Nagar, and IIT Colony are a few areas where the power supply will be affected. Chennai Power Cut on August 19: Several Areas to Face Power Outage in State, Check Timing and Other Details Here.

Similarly, the five-hour power supply will also be effective in areas such as Parasuram Nagar, Manohar Nagar, Bhavaniamman KovilStreet, Bhel Mudichur Manimangalam Main Road, Mullai Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Kambar Avenue and Kumaran Nagar of Tambaram.

Last week, on August 27, Tangedco announced a five-hour power cut in and around Chennai's Tambaram, Guindy and Tondiarpet areas.
