Chennai, November 9: Playback singer Guru Guhan has gone into hiding after allegedly raping a software engineer. The victim, who is the daughter of a retired SBI manager, filed a complaint claiming Guhan sexually assaulted her after promising to marry her. After promising marriage, Guhan allegedly forced her into a sexual relationship, resulting in pregnancy. Upon learning of the pregnancy, Guhan reportedly pressured her to undergo an abortion, further intensifying the betrayal.
According to a report by DTNEXT, the victim met 26-year-old Guru Guhan at a music event earlier this year in May, and they soon began a romantic relationship. The two grew close, and Guhan made promises of marriage, which led the victim to trust him. However, what followed was a series of manipulative actions by the singer, who is said to have taken advantage of the victim’s trust and forced her into a sexual relationship. The woman, who initially believed the promises made by Guhan, found herself in a vulnerable situation when the pregnancy occurred. After the pregnancy was confirmed, the victim alleges that Guhan pressured her into getting an abortion. This pressure further added to the emotional distress, leaving the victim in a state of shock and betrayal as he failed to keep his promise. As the case unfolded, the police filed charges under various sections, including rape, cheating, and the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. While Guhan has been active in local TV music shows and events, he has gone into hiding with his family following the filing of the complaint. The authorities are currently investigating the matter, and efforts to locate the accused continue as they gather further evidence to support the victim's claims.
