Chennai, February 27: In a bizarre case reported from Chennai, a man swallowed a gold chain after a family dispute. The quarrel among the family members led him to swallow the chain after which doctors of Chennai government hospitals removed it from his stomach through endoscopy. The man was identified as Srinivasan, 61, a resident of Vyasarpadi city, reported Times Now. 770gm Lump of Hair Removed From the Stomach of Mumbai Woman.

According to Times Now report, Srinivasan, a coolie by profession, swallowed the chain last month after a family dispute. After the incident, his family members tried many home remedies to remove the chain but couldn't succeed. Later, Srinivasan was admitted at the Kilpauk government hospital.

A scan at the hospital showed chain entangled in his stomach, following which, the doctors practised endoscopy and removed the 40-centimetre long gold chain. Although the chain was long it was feasible to extract as it didn't have any hooks or ring in it.

Meanwhile, in a similar incident from Mumbai, 77-gram lump of hair was removed from the stomach of a woman at JJ Hospital. To remove such a large lump of hair, doctors used laparoscopy with three keyholes in the stomach and vaginal opening. The condition which the woman was facing was identified as Rapunzel.
