While initial suspicions point towards a prescription drug overdose, authorities await the results of a viscera report to confirm the cause of death.According to the Times of India report, Zakir, the son of an autorickshaw driver, had left school after Class 10 to assist an electrician. As per the report, on the day of the incident, Zakir and his friend Kashif went to Loan Square in George Town to meet their friend Abinesh. Abinesh, a suspect in multiple assault and drug-related cases, had recently been released on bail and resides on the pavement. After spending some time with him, Zakir began vomiting around 3 pm and subsequently collapsed. He was rushed to Government Stanley Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival. The hospital authorities immediately informed the police, who arrived shortly after and subsequently launched an investigation. With Zakir's body being sent for autopsy, police noted injection marks on Zakir's hands and legs, indicative of prolonged drug abuse. His parents expressed shock upon learning about their son's drug habit, recounting his recent complaints of feeling unwell.
