Chandigarh, August 12: Panic gripped Chandigarh after police evacuated Elante Mall in the city on Monday, following a tip that there was a bomb planted at the popular shopping mall. After receiving the information, the bomb squad of the Chandigarh police immediately reached the spot and sealed the entire area. The police asked shoppers to immediately move out, leading to chaos in the mall. According to reports, the police received a bomb threat through an internet call. Initially, people thought it to be a mock drill by police ahead of the Independence Day. However, Chandigarh traffic police tweeted and clarified that it was not a mock drill. The police also urged people to cooperate.
