Panipat, May 1: Three youths were killed after they were hit by a passenger train while posing for a selfie on the railway tracks. The youths were crushed under the train near Panipat park in Chandigarh on Monday. The deceased, identified as Sunny, Chaman and Kishan, hailed from Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh and were relatives. According to reports, the youths had come to the city to attend the wedding of a relative. According to eyewitnesses, the victims were taking photographs of each other and roaming on the railway track for around half an hour and taking selfies. Dinesh noticed the danger and jumped to safety after alerting the trio. In a panic, Sunny, Chaman and Kishan jumped to the left and were crushed under the train. The collision was so severe that their body parts strew across the 30 feet radius. “As the train passed, Dinesh found them crushed on the track and fainted in shock,” a GRP officer told to Times of India.
After the formal investigation and postmortem were completed on Tuesday, their mortal remains were handed over to their families. The GRP claimed that two cell phones were recovered from the spot while two others are still missing.
