Centre Moves 10,000 Additional Paramilitary Troops to Jammu And Kashmir Overnight After NSA Ajit Doval Returns From Valley

Delhi, July 27: To strengthen anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre on Friday night approved moving 10,000 additional paramilitary forces to the state. This development comes after National Security Advisor Ajit Doval returned from a two-day visit to Kashmir Valley. The decision to sent troops will help in maintaining law and order in the state which is under the President's rule. "In order to strengthen the central intelligence grid as well as for maintaining law and order situations in Jammu & Kashmir, deployment of additional 100 companies of central armed police forces as per details mentioned below are ordered," said a Minister of Home Affairs (MHA) order. 131 Terrorist Attacks on Indian Army in Last Four Years: Defence Ministry.
The order states that 50 additional companies of CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) will be deployed, while nine companies of the CRPF will move from Delhi to the valley. The other troop deployment happens through the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
Recently, additional 40,000 paramilitary forces were brought in the state for Amarnath Yatra security. Out of total forces, about 32,000 are exclusively meant to guard the pilgrims during the 46-day yatra to the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine.
