Mumbai, August 14: Central Railway on Wednesday cancelled and diverted various trains due to heavy rains, waterlogging and landslides on Mumbai and Pune divisions. Some trains were also short terminated and short originated. Train services on Miraj-Londa section on South Western Railway and Southern Railway were also affected. Puri-LTT Super Express from Puri to Mumbai will be diverted via Sambhalpur. Trains travelling from down south to Kohlapur will be short terminated at Miraj station. Various trains will be short originated from Miraj. According to reports, rail route between Mumbai and Pune has also been closed till August 15. Train lines between Mumbai and Pune have been damaged after a few cases of boulder-falling and landslides in ghat areas. Meanwhile, 49 people lost their lives in floods in Maharashtra. Kohlapur, Satara and Sangli were the most affected districts of Maharashtra. Southern states of Kerala and Karnataka were also battered by floods and heavy rainfall.
