Bengaluru, August 2: In connection with the death of Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) founder V G Siddhartha, Mangaluru Police will question the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other advisors of the company. According to a Times of India report, mails have been sent to the CFO, who is currently in Tokyo and other officials to be part of the investigation.

The founder's body was found from Netravati river, 36 hours after he went missing. Siddhartha, who went missing on Monday, was spotted last at the Netravati Bridge where he had gone for a stroll. Fisherman Claims Seeing a Man Jumping Into Netravati River on Monday.

A fisherman, who was fishing nearby, claimed to have seen a man, likely to be Siddhartha, jumping into the Netravathi river from the bridge on Monday evening, police said. The fishermen said that he saw the person jump into the river, but since the current was strong, he could not find him in the fast-moving water, as the river is almost full and deep.

Siddhartha wrote an emotional letter to employees and board of directors two days before his disappearance. In his letter, VG Siddhartha said he failed as an entrepreneur. He was the son-in-law of former Karnataka Chief Minister SM Krishna also accused an income tax official of harassment and cited "tremendous pressure" from lenders. He wanted to sell 2-3 properties to settle all the debts because he was having more assets than liabilities.
