CBSE Topper Rewari Gangrape Case: No Arrests Yet By Haryana Police; Defence Personnel Reportedly Involved

Gurugram, September 15: The Haryana police has not been able to make any arrests even after two days in connection with the alleged gangrape of the 19-year-old college student. As per the police, one of the accused is an army man, and the police party has gone to Rajasthan to arrest him. Haryana DGP B S Sandhu said that all the accused were known to the victim.
“No arrest has been made so far. Our team is on task, and the accused will be arrested soon. Teams are searching for the accused round the clock,” reported Hindustan Times quoting Kanina deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Vinod Kumar as saying. On Friday evening, the state women’s commission chairperson Pratibha Suman also visited the victim at the Rewari civil hospital.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been set up to probe the case. The girl was on her way to the coaching centre when three men purportedly abducted and dragged her to a field, where they sexually assaulted her. The accused gave her sedatives, before raping her. The girl was left unconscious at a bus stand in Kanina, 116 km from Gurgaon. The parents of the girl claimed that the police refused to take their complaint and file FIR. The girl was also felicitated by the President of India after being brilliant in academics and topping the CBSE board exam.
