CBI Raids 110 Places in 19 States and Union Territories in Corruption, Criminal Misconduct and Arms Smuggling Cases
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday is conducting searches at around 110 places across nineteen states and union territories in its probe on cases related to corruption, criminal misconduct, and arms smuggling etc.
New Delhi, July 9: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday is conducting searches at around 110 places across nineteen states and union territories in its probe on cases related to corruption, criminal misconduct, and arms smuggling etc. This move is being viewed as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's biggest ever action against corruption. “In a nationwide action, CBI is today conducting searches at around 110 places in 19 States/Union Territories. CBI has registered around 30 separate cases relating to corruption, criminal misconduct and arms smuggling etc,” said a CBI release, reported news agency ANI. This is the second massive operation by the central agency in a week. Last Tuesday, CBI searched premises of 13 companies and bank officials for alleged bank frauds amounting to Rs 1,139 crore.
