Panaji, October 9: In a tragic incident, a car, allegedly driven by a Goa MLA’s son hit two pedestrians in Belagavi area of Karnataka. According to reports, an 18-year-old woman was killed and her sister was critically injured after they were badly hit by the speeding car. Police informed that the incident triggered violence in the area where scores of people anguished by the rash driving, pelted stones at the car. The locals damaged the glass panes and tried to set the car on fire. However, the police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.

According to a PTI report, the road accident happened on Monday evening on the NH-4 when a speeding luxury car driven by Cail Glen Souza Ticlo (27) dashed the two women. Cail, the accused, is the son of Goa lawmaker Glen Ticlo.  The victim who succumbed to injuries has been identified as Tainiyat Wahid Bisti, while the injured one has been identified as Samrin Khalid Bisti, who is undergoing a treatment in the hospital. Reports inform that the two women were knocked down by the car while they were crossing the highway near the fruit market. Police commissioner D C Rajappa informed that Cail was arrested but released on bail on Tuesday. Rajappa further informed that seven people were also arrested for allegedly trying to set the car ablaze and engaging in violence in the area.
